sand box

a day in the life...
in the sandbox.

lots of pictures of kale to follow.
i just can't get enough of him.  he is just too cute to me.  look at that face!

yes, he is in his pj's.  don't judge.

sisters helping.
this is a rare photo of mallory.
she is just so silly she always has a funny face when i ask her to smile.
i had to put this one in because mal has such a sweet look.
here is the usually.
they LOVE the sandbox.
i think kale would play in it all day everyday, if i let him.

total boy

this is how we found kale the other day.
just chillaxing!
he is such a BOY!
he was watching a cartoon and eating his dinner.

he loves to be independent and will go off by himself to adventure.
he is saying tons of words and loves to give squeezes (hugs).
he would like to live outside and loves to have sticks and rock in his hands at all times.
something cute he does right now: he will touch his nose and say beep when you ask
him what his nose says!
he is so cute he makes us want another one!
(NO announcement!)

honor and remember

i was looking at some of my favorite blogs today and came across this.  please, go read the post and then sign the petition like i did.  i have a great reverence for all our military men and women and their families.  i can't express the gratitude i feel to them for making this land we live in free.  i signed the petition because i would like the families of the men and women who have given their lives for ME to be free to be honored and remembered EVERYDAY!  this is alittle something i can do to show our military how much i appreciate their service.  happy memorial day!

uncle greg

ummm, can you tell they like him alittle bit!
greg came out to indy for the indy 500 and he took time away from the race and friends to come see us!!
we were all very excited.
we used to live by greg in the twin cities.
we would go out to lunch with him, the girls and i.
brett and greg saw almost every UFC together, at our house or his.
we loved being that close.
we really, REALLY miss him.

thanks for coming to see us greg.
we got to hangout, play outside and splash kids!
more pictures to come when greg sends them to me.  hint, hint!

MOTHER'S DAY!

i had a great mother's day.
brett started the celebration early and gave me the best mother's day gift ever.
he took the kids somewhere saturday morning and let me clean the house all by myself.
i got ALOT done in those 2 hours!
i even listened to music really loud because no one was sleeping and i didn't have to listen for kiddos!
on sunday brett made every meal, what a treat to not have to cook the whole day!
and then we went on a family walk.
it was a great relaxing day!
thanks brett!
these pictures are from olivia's preschool.
they had a mother's day tea.
we got to have lovely refreshments.

had the kids sing some songs for us.

then liv got to give me the present she made!
how cute is that.
she was so excited.
i love it and brett served me mother's day dinner on my new plate.

happy mother's day to all you mom's out there.
especially my mom.
I LOVE YOU!

the indy museum of art

when we were getting ready to go to the MOA
olivia asked what were we going to do.
ME: we where going to look at some art.
O: what is art?
ME: it's pictures and scultptures.  you'll like it!  i promise.
O: i want to go to the park. (in the most whining voice you can think of)
ME: atleast we're going with zoey. right?
let's see how it went.

number scultpture.  each girl by their age.

best friend sisters.

sweetest girl ever.  zoey, or as mallory says "joey".

playing around on the grounds.

kale was happy in the stroller as long as he had some sticks.

i had to put this one in here. there was a beautiful butterfly flying around!
this is mallory face when she saw it.
oh, to be a child again and wonder at everything.
i thought it was precious!

this is cool.
i will show and tell you why!
see the floor?  look really closely...
closer.  right there, in the bottom to the right.

yep, your right.  the glass panels are held up by these little guys!
cool, huh?

olivia wanted me to get a picture of her dancing on it.
look at all those little guys!

i think they were playing ring around the rosies.

we saw some more scultptures and lots of paintings
and some weird stuff i don't really know why they call art.

when we were leaving...
ME: what did you think liv?
O: mom, i love art!
job done!

it was really cool AND it is free admission and parking!
how awesome is that!

i think brett and i are going to go back on a date night.
zara thought the cafe they have there is wolfgang puck!
YUM!

bunnies, sweet swing sets and trouble makers.

we have some friends.
aren't they so little.
they are tiny!  they don't really even know how to hop very good yet.
the girls REALLY want to keep one.
don't tell them, but so do i!

here is the momma.  we don't know where they live.
we have narrowed it down to 2 places.
1. under our "barn" as the girls call it
2. under the neighbors deck.
we don't really care as long as they keep coming around!

SWEET SWING SETS!
isn't this set AWESOME!

we love it!  it is so sweet to see the girls playing together on it.
they love the swings and make up all sorts of games.
reminds me of sally and i when we were young!

TROUBLE MAKERS!
kale and his partner in crime, larz, pulling all the movies out of the shelf .
so adorable.

nana and papa!

nana and papa got to come a visit us for 4 whole days!
it was heavenly.
we were the second last stop on the "little" trip.
first they drove to provo to see jeremy graduate BYU and bless sweet robert.
then flew to keller, texas to visit the streets and bless screamer abby.
next, they came here.

the awesome welcome sign we made them.
olivia colored the w,e,l,c,o all by herself.
she stopped and asked me to help her because her arm hurt!

lots of reading was done.

we put papa to work from the moment he got here.
he made this AWESOME picnic table for the kiddos.
the girls want to eat on it everyday.

even kale wants to eat at it.

do you think these kids were a little excited to see them?
dad also fixed a door that didn't close and hung a new light in our 70's bathroom.
thanks dad!

mom was very busy helping my sew the quilt i made for her.

it has all the kids and grandkids handprints on it.
it was so interesting and fun to make.
mom was a big help, i douldn't have done it without her.
i had to tell her about it, i wanted it to be a surprise,
because i didn't really know what i was doing.
she was a slave driver though and i got it done! in 2 days!
oh, i forgot the most important thing we did.
the girls went on nana/papa grand-daughter dates.
we went to the mall and played at the play place and rode on lots of rides.
oh and the most important part, got treats!
nana and papa and the girls also got some pictures in one of those photos booths.
it was REALLY funny taking to get all their faces in the picture!

we had some much fun nana and papa.
PLEASE come back soon.
we love you!

they flew back to utah then had to drive home!
what a great trip!
