womens meeting WITH olivia

tonight was the first women's meeting of the church!

this year 8 and up were allowed to go so liv came with me!

it was a special night to be together.  it's crazy to think next year mal will be with us!!

we went out to eat after at zuppas.  

it was so yummy!!

what a fun time with my sweet girl!

liv is growing up.  she is becoming such a wonderful, creative, fun, crazy girl!

i'm so glad she is in our family!

sloan FINALLY learned to go DOWN the stairs.

granola bars

i'm on a mission to find the best granola bar recipe.  

this is ree's (the pioneer woman) recipe.

it was good.  but i think i used to dark of molasses.

on to the next recipe!

daddy time

the kids love to play with brett on the tramp.

friday night sleepover

the kids love to sleep in the same room.

we usually let them on friday nights.

tonight they got a special sleepover and brett made them a tent to sleep in!

they loved it and said it was the best sleepover ever!

sunglasses

liv and i have matching sunglasses.

liv loves it and i love her!

she wanted a picture of our matchy matchy!

we love doughnuts

dunkin doughnuts opened up on the way to kale's preschool.

kale really wanted to try the doughnuts out so how could i say no??

they were really good.

brownie batter filled was so yummy!

nana

we wanted to send a special note to nana today and tell her we are thinking about her.

her and papa are needing to make some tough decisions about nana's health right now.

we love them so much and wanted to let them know!

zoo field trip with dad

liv got to take brett to the zoo today!

she was SO excited to have brett along with her.  

she talked about it for weeks.

they had a great day and saw lots of fun animals!

visiting teaching

i made these for my visiting teachees for this month.

it was so fun and they loved them.

i plan on printing out the printable from simpleasthatblog.com 

and giving it to my ladies!

i love sleeping babies.

hair cut

kale wanted a buzz cut for summer!

here he is in the middle of his hair cut.

my boy is so handsome!

family walks

my dad would be so proud!

torturing the next generation with family walks!

just kidding, they love the walks right now.

i'm sure it will get harder and harder to make them come!

sneak peak

we have year passes to the new draper aquarium and today we got to go for a sneak peak!

we surprised the kids and took them.

they were so excited.

it was not so great though because most of the animals weren't even there yet.

it was fun to see the building but we were a little disappointed with not many animals!

we will go back soon since they said most animals should be there within a month!

sibling love

i love it when i catch the kids being nice to each other.

this is how i found them this morning watching frozen.

makes a momma's heart happy!

i bought a game for the kids today and brett and i ended up playing it!

it was so fun.  you pushed the button and the ping pong ball flies in the air.

brett and i decided to try it over the kitchen/living wall.

the kids thought we were crazy.

experiment

we did an experiment today.  

baking soda and vinegar mixed with food coloring.

the kids loved it.  they made a mess for about 30 mins!

i think we will have to do some more science stuff this summer!

sucker

sloan had his first sucker today.

he thought it was delicious and got it everywhere.

cousins

happy first day of spring.

rita's water ice (brett's favorite treat place) gives out free water ice the first day of spring.

so, naturally we went!  we invited the gales to come with us!

these kids have so much fun together!  

sprinkler

 our children are CRAZY and decided today was a good day for the sprinkler!

it was pretty nice, 70's so thought that was warm enough!

the only bad thing is, i don't know if they will stop asking to get the sprinkler out now.

neigborhood walks

just walking and swinging with these two today.

we love to go on walks to pick up sisters from the bus stop!

snap toys

kale and i made an awesome sound machine today with our snap toy.

it's kind of complicated to put one of these together, 

but if it gets kale away from the kindle and tv, i'll do it!

pallets

i randomly got some pallets and cut them all apart into workable wood today!

yay.  i can't wait to make some stuff with these!

silly mal

mally got this mustache from the doctor today.

she looks so serious but she couldn't keep it on too long.

it was tickling her face.

i love this girl!

leprechauns beware

mal and i got to make a leprechaun trap for school.

here it is, i'm pretty proud of our work!

thank goodness for pinterest.

mal didn't catch a leprechaun but maybe next year she said.

we had a pretty low key st. paddy's day.

i made rice krispie treats with lucky charms for a treat and some green bread for dinner.

the kids also got to use their sweet straw glasses!

they want to use them everyday.
