sewing lessons

today olivia did her first sewing!

it warmed this momma's heart and bought back many memories

of sewing with my mom!

i am so excited to share the love of

all things handmade

with my sweet girls!

liv did a great job sewing.

it was so sweet, she could have made anything

but chose to make a shoulder bag for mallory

with ladybug fabric!

olivia's start to a lifetime of sewing!

i want to make 50 more!

brett even thinks the blanket is super cool!

daddy's day

mal had daddy's day at preschool.

mallory was sooo excited.

she couldn't wait to go and have daddy all to herself!

they read some books, colored masks, got some balloons and had rootbeer floats!

they had a great time!

a new obession

i started making a faux chenille blanket yesterday.

i am obessed.  i did all the sewing in 2 days, about 3 1/2 hours. 

i just couldn't stop.

hear it is ready to cut.

i am going to cut it right now.

then you just put it in the dryer and watch it become fabulous!

blues clues

liv and mal found some paw prints today in a  coloring book. 

they colored them blue and started playing blues clues.

they even let kale play with them!

i love little kids and their imaginations!!

brave olivia

olivia's tonsils and throat are not doing so great lately.

she has had strep throat 4 times in the last year and

i can't count how many times we went to the dr. to get checked for strep throat

and she didn't have it.  BOO.

so, she is going to see an ENT to see if we should get her tonsils out.

when our new dr looked at her tonsils, she said liv had

the worst "kissing" tonsils she had ever seen.

the dr wanted to make sure liv didn't have MONO!!

so she had to get her blood taken.

liv was really worried, but we talked about it,

the nurses were VERY nice and she did it.

liv sat so still and buried her head in my shoulder.

then started looking when she figured out it wasn't that bad. 

one of the nurses said she did better then some grown men!

yay liv!! 

liv told everybody about her blood draw today.

she was so proud!

the kids woke up to a treat for st. patty's day.

liv and mal got to dress up for school on friday. 

they wore green shirts, necklaces and some cute hair stuff.

i forgot to take pictures. opps.

i made a rainbow breakfast for them.

it was yummy!

i saw this sign on hoh awhile back and loved it. 

i made one for the ehlerts and now brett wants one for our house!

love it. 

happy birthday jen

happy bitthday jennie!

went to the ehlerts tonight for jennies family party!

mally got some presents for her birthday too. 

she was so excited!

i made jennie some headbands. 

i think she liked them!  

MAKE UP!

i have one word to describe the feelings the girls have towards the make up

mally got for her birthday...

OBSESSED!!

they ask to put it on multipe times a day and they put it all over their faces!

glitter in their eyebrows. 

its pretty awesome.

practicing piano

i am teaching olivia and mallory piano.

mallory, is not too interested.

we have lessons and she practices whenever mallory wants to, but don't worry about it.

olivia is all sorts of interested and always reminds me when we need to have lessons.

she loves to practice and is already getting better!

one day i came in the living room to see olivia practicing the piano without the book

because mallory had it on the floor, reading the numbers out loud for olivia to play.

they are such funny sisters.  always wanting to do things together.

it is so wonderful to see them love to be together!

and practiving the piano!! lol!!

pinteresting...

it's now secret to those close to me, but i am addicted to pinterest.

once in a while i actually try or make something i pinned!

i saw this tip on pinterest...

you cook your chicken and then to shred it, just put it in your mixer!

i tried it and IT TOTALLY WORKS!! 

but just one tip, don't leave the mixer on when you go to help kale with something in the other room.

it makes the chicken into mulch!!

i also tried some "miracle bread".

it only takes 1 hour to make and bake!!

it is great bread!

brett was very happy to come home to hot yummy bread!

water race track

kale is trying out the sweet water race track greg gave him.

he stayed in the bath for almost an hour and did NOT want to get out! 

i didn't even know hotwheels made something like this!

greg always finds the coolest gifts!!

preschool birthday party

mallory got to have a party at preschool today too! 

i let her pick what snack she wanted to bring and

we took jello and whipped cream AND strawberry milk!

mal also got this sweet hat, got to be the leader for the day and

they sang happy birthday!

mal had a birthday party today!!

she had katy and regan over.

they were just hilarious!

we did lots of stuff.

decorated the treat bags, made a bracelet,

played pin the crown on the princess (drawn by daddy again),

had a tea party with fancy glasses and "tea", decorated cupcakes,

opened presents and then played!

it was an awesome party!

as you can tell mallory got some MAKE UP!!

all three girls freaked out!

they all immediately starting putting it on eachother. 

it was so cute!

we have been staying up late the last couple of nights and poor bubba was tired!

i didn't know where he was and went looking for him...

i don't have to bug them every 5 minutes about getting stuff done!
