pumpkin patch

mallory's preschool class went on their first fieldtrip to a pumpkin patch.
i went and took all three kids!
we picked out our pumpkins, had a snack, shopped at the little store and then
played at the playground.

isn't he SO adorable.

kale woke up and went right for the dog.

mallory class.  there are only 8 kids in her class.  it's wonderful!  lots of attention for each one.
she has the same teachers as olivia had last year.  mrs. phillips and mrs. krielein.

of course, right before we left, kale fell down and bumped his lip pretty good.
he got a fat lip and was pretty sad.

it was so interesting to me, when he got hurt.
i saw him get hurt, i was standing right there and i picked him up and held him.
he was crying quite hard and i slowly walked over to the siting area.
quitely telling him he would be ok, rocking him.
i loved him until he calmed down and then started to look at the damage.
he was bleeding and his lip was swelling.
it was so strange...
i wasn't in a panic.  i was calm and figuring out what i needed to do.
just fine, maybe the doctor, hospital.
just fine.
the reason this was so strange to me is because i remember when i was a new mom.
poor olivia.
whenever she got hurt i FREAKED out.
thinking the worst, not even knowing what the worst was...
now, after having these 3 babies, i am not so worried.
i don't freak out so much.
i know what to do.
stay CALM and then see what needs to be done.
weird.  this mothering thing.
how it grows and changes.
gets harder yet easier.
i am a better person because of these sweet babies.

I have always been like that. Glad you're catching on.

Do you know the person who left the other comment? What a strange comment.

I remember you with Livy. It's been fun for me to watch you grow as a mom. Just remind me of all the things you learned when I get crazy someday.
