this is the view from our living room windows. if you look closely you can see the ducks are walking across the frozen lake. the girls and i just love it when they do it. i thought ducks went south for the winter?? am i wrong? they are still here. they will even go in the freezing lake and swim. it is neat to watch.
olivia's hair is finally long enough to put in a braid. she always wants me to braid it. it stays in for about 3 minutes of playing but it does look pretty cute for those 3 minutes.

That picture totally looks like an Indiana winter.
Lots of formerly migrating birds now stay put for the winter because with the increase of year-round landscaping (golf course, public parks, etc), they have sufficient food year-round and have no need to travel to warmer climates. I read an article about this last week.
