happy halloween!

this year we got to go to a pumpkin patch with olivia's preschool.
it was so fun.
the girls ran around and picked all the pumpkin flowers. mallory so wants to be in preschool.  just like sister.

olivia with her pumpkin.
we got a super deal with the school and only paid $2 a pumpkin.
i think we will go every year from now on!

here they are.  so cute.
we have a dinosaur, a PINK butterfly and supergirl.

kale loved being outside.

not looking at the camera but still adorable.

olivia's preschool class.  she is by far the tallest.

the pumpkin patch has a "playground" for the kids.   had to go on the swings and the slide.

halloween day...
we went trunk or treating at the church.  we had such a great time getting to know the people in the ward better.  brett even made some chili for the chili cook off.  it was good!
then we went to an old folks home.
i thought of when my grandma was in a senior home and hoped that some sweet children came to visit her on halloween.  it was really cool.  i think we will do it every year, especially when they are so sweet and little!
then we went to marsh, a local grocery store, and trick or treated! (i know, you are thinking why would a grocery store do that?  i don't know but they give away ALOT of gum and we wanted some!  so we went)
needless to we had alot of candy and went home to enjoy.

we have this picture as our screen saver and everytime kale sees it he growls and waves at himself.
adorable.
we had some visitors before and after halloween. but of course the camera was broken. so no photos!
my mom came for almost a week.  we crafted, played with the kiddos, made cookies and just had fun.
brett's mom and grandma were able to come for more than a week.  they played with the kiddos and i got to do all sorts of stuff ALL BY MYSELF or with one kiddo!
we had such a great time with all the family that has come to visit lately.

now** if you could spread your visits out a little bit!
no one came to visit us for 8 months and then all 4,
brett's dad, my mom and brett's mom and grandma came in 4 weeks!
we are missing all of you too much.

9 month update

kale is 9 months already.
he is adorable, of course.
he is crawling, army crawl though.  hope that isn't a sign of jobs to come!
he is a great eater and loves vegetables the most.
he stopped nursing and now drinks formula??
he is a sweet boy who loves to wave to everybody and is a little bashful when they talk back to him.
he likes to be silly and loves to laugh.
he has 6 teeth, 2 on the bottom and 4 up top.
if you stand him up to help him walk, he will go stiff as a board and not move AT ALL.
he can give you a high five.  so smart!

weight: 20 lbs. 6 oz.  50%

picnic in october

we went back to the pumpkin patch with our friends, the madsens to have a picnic.
we had a great time again.  it was a little colder then we thought but very fun.
we even got some apple cobbler, a 1/4 bushel of apples and a spaghetti squash.

isn't olivia sweet.  she is helping mallory run through all the vines.
we didn't even ask her to help mallory.

don't you love olivia's bangs?

kale loved being outside.

the girls were acting like girls for a couple of minutes!  they were a little scared to climb the trees.
daddy came over and they climbed away!

thought this would be a pretty cute picture minus all the people in the background!
wesley, jeremy and the girls.

little family photo.  yikes.
we need to get some good family pics done.

i loved this.
kale loves his daddy.
i think it is because he is around us girls all day long.  too much estrogen!

living the dream

now that we are living in a house!  yay!  we have found several fabulous things you get/can do in a house that isn't really available in an apartment.
eating in our sunroom.  yes, it is still warm enough!  aren't we lucky.

brett the grilling machine hansen!  he loves to grill and we love it when he does.

riding a bike, even having a bike!  yay for houses!

finding sweet bugs.  mallory found a preying mantis and they loved him to death!

siting outside chillaxing in your lawn chairs.  thanks grandpa!

looking out your back window and seeing this.
we went out and watched for awhile as they harvested.  the kids loved it, especially kale.

looking out your front window to see this.
it got alot worse that day too.  they dug up the far end of our drive way!  yikes.

we love this little house.

love at home

so this weekend i went a little crazy (i know, shocking, isn't it) and made brett help me unpack and hang up EVERYTHING and get all the boxes out of here.
i love it.
we have never, in our 12 moves unpacked this quickly.
we usually don't ever unpack everything and
don't hang up most of the wall hangings until right before we move.
i am determined to be settled here.
what a great start.
i thought i would take you on a little tour...
here is the garage, very exciting.
it fits 2 cars and lots of stuff on the sides.
this is the playroom.
it is on the right when you walk in from the garage.
it is amazing to have a place all the toys can go.
the girls love it.
they don't love cleaning it up everynight, but it is getting easier.
here is the screened-in porch.

here is the 1973 kitchen.
who really cares when it is this huge.
got to love those light fixtures, huh?
don't worry, my mom is going to give me her
old orange canisters
so we can have a home away from home.
it over looks the playroom.

go through the kitchen to the dining room.
haven't got all the pictures up yet.
QUESTION:
should i paint all the frames i have black to be matchy matchy or just stay with all different colors?
living room.
i can't get the picture of the fire place up here for some reason.
just picture 1973 brown paneling and a rock fireplace.
sweet...my parents are going to be right at home.
hallway
ohhhh, awwwlaundry room.work in progress. IT WILL BE MY SEWING ROOM TOO!
it is much bigger in person, hint, hint.
i think it's bigger than the kitchen in our old apartment!what you see when you walk in our front door.
don't you love the quilt hanging!! thanks momma!
the main bathroom. girls room. haven't put up all their stuff. our room.
kale's room.
i am currently making some curtains for our room to see if they will work for all the windows! also, trying to figure out what i want to do in the girls room, with all their wall hangings. i will update later.
well, thanks for coming for a tour. maybe one day you could come and see it in person??

our house....

in the middle of construction!
this is it. the house we are renting.
we love it.
they are making the road in front of the house 4 lanes. it will be really nice when it is done!mallory with the rainbow cupcakes.
so FUN and so EASY.
this is my cute little plate display.
I LOVE IT.
i haven't ever been able to have it out. now with the kitchen in the new house being so big, i am going to keep it out all the time.
even better, it was only $9!

cute boy.

girls helping clean up after the cupcakes.
i remember my mom always letting us lick the beaters!
thanks mom.

we are still unpacking. we went to church and loved the ward. we were told about 10 new families have moved-in in the last 3 months. so awesome.

there are 14 sunbeams! oh, and we feel like we are in utah again because the church is 3 minutes away! yeah for more sleep.
