Olivia got some special mail today.

aunt amy MADE her a baptism necklace and bracelet.

she loves them and can't wait to wear them for her big day on the 12th of October.

grandpa earl got umbrellas for all 3 big kids for liv's bday.

they love them and want to play with them all the time.

birthday party

 liv got to invite several friends over for her party today.  it was so fun!

we rented a bounce house for the kids to play in for the party.

it was a hit.  one of the girls said it was "the best party ever"

that's what every mother wants to hear!

we started by playing in the bounce house.

we put on temporary tattoos and dressed up for some pictures.

played in the bounce house again.

we decorated cupcakes and had ice cream.

then played in the bounce house so more

presents were next.

then more bounce house.

lastly, the "piñata"

this thing was $1 at the dollar store.  I didn't think it would last even one hit.

the thing was indestructible!  seriously!

I had to rip it apart in the end. 

a good birthday memory.

 

 

family

we had the Utah family over for livs b day today. 

it's so fun to be around family and have them join us for special occasions.

grandpa earl came and of course bought presents for everyone!

sally, brian and Gideon also came and played.

we celebrated with daddy tonight with burgers and presents!

puzzles

kale and I did this awesome puzzle today. 

he loves dinosaurs so he would actually help me put it together!

she's 8

happy birthday to our livy lou!

she is 8!  I can't believe it.

of course she had the streamers on her door and a sign.

the really cool thing about today is Olivia got her ears pierced!

she was so brave and said it didn't hurt like she thought it would.

dad had to work tonight so lucky liv gets a whole weekend to celebrate!

new friends

kale has been having a hard time with the move. 

he doesn't like change, AT ALL, but he had really good friends

in Minnesota and misses them.

but, good things are happening here and all the kids are making new friends.

today liv and I went to find a baptism dress for her.

she is almost 8 and has chosen to get baptized.

where did the time go? 

she is growing into such a wonderful young woman and I don't know what I would do without her.

we found a beautiful dress and then I took her to the olive garden for lunch.

it was a great day to share with her.

growing up

our little man kale is growing up.

we found him another awesome preschool and he is learning so much.

this is what they did for the letter p and kale loved it.

 

super weird.

I told kale to go clean his room like I always do.

he went up to his room for a couple minutes and came back down.

I told him he had to clean his room and I would come help him.

he said it was done.  no way.

I had to go check.  he REALLY cleaned it!

it is a miracle!!!

early release friday

 

Utah schools for one day of early release for teacher prep.

our school gets out early on Friday.

today we went to artic circle to play!

we got ice cream cones too.

especially with my sister amy.

I found this today at target and had to take a picture of it.

 

smoothies

made some smoothies today for an after school snack.

kale spilled his and he found an interesting way to clean it up.

side note: this kid has some blue eyes!

sloan has found his feet.

I love this stage!

he will just sit on the floor and eat those toes for several minutes.

 

I still swaddle sloan to sleep and he sleeps in his car seat!

this is his air conditioning!

I keep his feet out so he doesn't get too hot.

walks and dinner

everyday at about 3:55.

we walk to get sisters from the bus. 

kale runs to see them.  it's adorable.

 

aren't these peppers just gorgeous!

I use them in an awesome turkey and bacon meatloaf.

I finally got all my liners together and found a fun place for them to keep them.
