birthday lunch

happy early birthday kale!!

since kales birthday is tomorrow, we decided to go play and eat at

burger king today to celebrate his b day!

i can't believe this boy is 3!!

today brett headed off to klondike with his boys this morning.

they came to our house and made their own sled the other saturday.

they had 2 teams competing and won almost every event they had!

they even won 1 and 2 in the actual klondike race!

tape measures

kale new toy is a tape measure.

he loves them.

we have several around the house and they end up in kales toys now!

they play all sorts of games with the tape measure too. 

quite funny!

chocolate chip cookies with some cute help

i hurt my foot this last week, so...i stayed home from the YMCA for the week.

boy, i didn't know all the time and things i could do if i wasn't at the Y for 2 hours in the morning!!

we made cookies, cleaned random stuff, did projects and all sorts of things.

the kids are loving the extra time with mom and getting more time to be creative!

dad is liking the the benefits of more home cooking/baking!

big boy bed

kale is now in a big boy bed!!

several mornings ago kale came out of his room and said good morning!

he figured out how to get out of his crib!!

so, there was no reason to keep him in the crib.

i got things switched around and he is so excited to be in a big boy bed!

we will see how it goes tonight!

i don't know if he will actually stay in there for the night.

favorite pass time

these two girls love to color and love eachother.

they are best friend sisters!

they do almost everything together and that

does cause alot of fights.

they are always there for eachother when it counts though.

almost everyday they color for hours. 

making all sorts of master pieces.

were at home with their babies.

they were both so great to mallory and the other kids!

we were sad to see them go,

but so happy to have mrs jenny and mrs. sarah back!

this morning mallory wanted to do a puzzle.

this snoopy puzzle is mine from when i was a kid. 

wendy gave it to me when i had braces.  funny!

mallory did a great job on the puzzle.

we also did her hair all pretty.

homework

olivia is in kindergarten.

she has homework almost everyday.

she doesn't like to do said homeowork right

after school so we get up early and do the many poems

cutting, glueing and coloring in the morning. 

she is so smart!

it's so fun to see her learning so many new things and

loving to learn!

cookies and friends

we decided to have some friends over today for a tea party.

we made sugar cookies and kool aid.

the girls were thrilled for such fun time for some friends!

kale got flour all over his face and only touched ONE cookie cutter!

nothing like friends and a tea party!

a wonderful gift

my mom gave me her old sewing machine!!!

it is much fancier then mine!!

i am scared of it!  i haven't sewed with it yet,

but i am excited to try it out soon!

shaving

kale got a "shaving" kit for christmas.

i can't believe how cute these pictures are.

kale is going up so much everyday, i just want to cry!

anyway, brett helped him with the shaving cream.

kale was feeling very big and did a great job.

 

ginger bread houses

we were out looking for some christmas clearance and we found a gingerbread house!

we bought it home.  the kids were so excited. 

i didn't read the instructions before i promised the kids we would decorate it before dinner.

well, little did i know this sucker needed to set for 2 to 4 hours!

what???

so with much complaining we waited until after dinner.

we decorated it just like the box and it was quite entertaining.

there were lots of opinions about where things should go and what colors should go where!

we were good parents and tortured the kids by not letting them eat it right away!

i had to include these 2 photos because olivia's faces are so funny!

christmas day activities

after opening all the presents greg came over!

brett made a delicious dinner of pork loin and veggies.

after dinner we had to try out all of the gifts!

livy got a camera/microphone where you sign and can see yourself on the tv

from grandpa earl.  it was a hit!  we sang awhole bunch of songs.

greg loved it!!  NOT!

next, we had to play disney headbands.  it is a really fun game!

the kids thought it was pretty funny to have the headband on your head.

then olivia and mallory made some jewerly from the awesome jewerly set

cousin robert gave olivia.  hours of fun with this gift.

it was a great christmas day.
