birthday girl!

i can't believe this sweet sassy girl is
4 years old.she was very lucky and had grandpa hansen come for her birthday!
we had a great time with grandpa!
livy got to take snack to preschool on thursday and we made rainbow cupcakes.
she LOVED them and said it was the best birthday ever!
this is the crown she got to wear at school!

we went to the olive garden to celebrate and here she is getting sung to.
she was a little shy about it. how knew olivia could be shy?

we haven't had her friend party yet because of moving, but it will be soon. this is olivia's dance teacher. the parents are encouraged to NOT stay
in the class. so this is the only picture i have of her at dance class.
liv's cute preschool teachers.
she LOVES it there. i think she would go everyday if she could.

olivia is 43 inches and weights 44 lbs. (95%)
loves to dance and sing and be silly
she is a great eater and even loves broccoli
she loves to play outside and with her friends
she is very bright and helps mom alot with many different things
she is very stubborn (i don't know where she gets that?)
she loves to pretend to be a princess and a mommy
loves the color orange and wants to be a firefighter when she grows up

we are so grateful to have olivia in our family.
she helps us be happy and silly and makes brett and i better parents.
we love you bug.
happy birthday!

happenings

so....right after my last post our camera got sick and hasn't recovered yet. i have never really been a "picture taker" but now that i don't have even the option to get a quick cute photo i am really missing it. hopefully the camera will feel better soon...

please use your imagination for the rest of the blog.

1. we had a fabulous trip to the oregon coast.
*** pictures***
lots of cousin time and family bonding. played at the beach everyday, made cookies with nana. brett, papa, greg, jeremy and brian all went deep sea fishing and broke the "most times someone can throw up and not die" record. he had a great time though he will never go again. we had such fun just being all together, especially seeing the grandkids together.

2. we are moving.
***pictures of the new HOUSE***
i know what you're thinking, "didn't they just move." well, yes, sort-of. brett and i LOVE to move and try to do it as much as possible. hence, this is our 12 move of our 6 year marriage!! we found a house twice as big with a 2 car garage and a HUGE front and back yard for less money, so, yeah, we are moving. this is a good move though and we can hardly wait. we move this saturday!!

3. liv started preschool!!
***sweet picture of a super excited, super cute liv***
she went for the first time yesterday and LOVE IT. there are 7 boys and 3 girls in her class. she did great. the teachers said she listened and learned the rules really quick and they want 3 more just like her. i was a little nervous because olivia is quite, how shall i say it, "strong-willed" at home but i guess she and i just have a really special relationship. she knows that i am the only one who will still love her if she acts "like that" and so she reserves it just for me. awwww, special.

4. mallory had her first dance class.
***adorable pictures of mallory at dance class****
oh my cuteness. it made me want to cry!! seriously. mallory was so cute. many of the 2 to 3 year olds were to scared to join the class, but not mally! she was right in there doing everything the teacher asked. ADORABLE. i didn't put her in anything too crazy ballerina but i think i will next week. so cute.

5. olivia starts dance class on friday. liv is very excited especially now with the preview of mallorys class!

6. kale is 7 1/2 months!!
***cute pictures of kale, just being adorable***
he is cute as ever. he is rolling all over the place, sits by himself and is really trying to crawl. he will cry at night and all i have to do is go in and lay him back down. so funny. trying to crawl in his sleep. he is smiling and talking and LOVES his sisters. no one can make him laugh like mallory and olivia. he is over 20 lbs now and has size 4 feet!! he was 29 inches at his 6 month check-up. we all love him to death and can't believe he is already almost 8 months old.

if you made it through that you really must want to know what is going on with us!! maybe someday we will get the camera fixed or get a new one....

oh, you can go to sally's blog to see some really cute pictures from the oregon.

kids and finished projects

here are the finished skirts.
you can find the tutorial here.
they were labor intensive but easy and turned out
FANASTIC!
(if i do say so myself).
now i just have to let them play in them and not worry about getting them dirty!
cute huh??
i made this little onesie for kale too.
i really do have the sewing bug!
here is the tutorial for it.
we had to have a little photo shoot, again!

i even got a smile from kale!

ummm, i heart them (today)!

the little man.
he can ALMOST sit up!
more projects to come.
i can't stop!

projects

i have really caught the sewing bug lately. it is so fun. i have many projects in the works, of course, but here is a finished one.
like i need another bag but this one will be used for the upcoming beach trip!
hugely perfect for beach towels, sunscreen and a book and maybe kale!yes, olivia can git inside it. i didn't think it was going to be THAT big.
brett has also been busy. we got a new entertainment center (craigslist for $20, i LOVE craigslist) and so brett made us night stands from the old entertainment center.
they are awesome.
HIS
HERSbrett is also re-doing a sewing desk for me! i am so excited for the final product!
pictures when finished, it's going to be so cute!

annie and other strange things

olivia and mallory have discovered
annie
(the old verison that i use to watch).
they ask to watch it everyday and some days i let them. like today.
here they are laying on the couch watching....
then as ms. hanagen comes out-they get behind the couch pillows and hide from her.
brett and i can also do a mean 'omorrow'duet!
crazy baby kale. this is how brett found him sleeping the other day.
that's right, backwards in the carseat.
olivia made this sweet tower. if you look closely, each side is identical.
well, almost until mallory started to "help".

brett got a really good smoothie face the other morning!

100 posts!

wow.
i can't believe i have done 100 posts.
the girls and i just went down blog memory lane. it was awesome to see the way our family has grown and all the fun things we have done. whoever thought of the blogging thing was brillant! what a great way to remember and share your life.
thanks to all those who stop by and keep in touch with us but most of all thanks to brett, olivia, mallory and kale for letting me blog about you (not that you have a choice).

photo shoot

sweet little kale.
he is getting so big and so expressive.
he will smile and laugh and talk to you. he is just adorable.
i guess he is going to be a momma's boy!
he just got his first tooth too.

here he is just after his bath.
grandma jo got him this towel. isn't it cute!
thanks grandma.

this is my favorite one.

all smiles.

very serious.

bunk beds

the girls now have their beds bunked. they are so cute about it. mallory even tells random people "olivia sleeps up and i sleep down". i just got them some new matching sheets and i LOVE them. it makes the beds look so girlie!

4th of july

we had a great 4th this year. we went to madsen's and since it rained ALL day, we ate, played games, watched a movie and had a ton of fun.
aaron grilled some steak for the boys and chicken for the girls and kids.
here is dessert. i made cupcakes and we decorated them. the kids LOVED it.
mallory and jeremy. aren't they cute.
madsen's have a ton of costumes and the girls love to dress up while we are there. olivia and wesley. waiting, waiting to have a cupcake.
i got cute "4th of july" cupcake papers and they even came with little spinners!
aren't they so cute.

kids and dads watching a movie.

madsens have a great game called killer bunnies. we were having so much fun that we didn't go home until 10 PM.
