grand marais

everywhere you go up here there is a beautiful shoreline.

it's fabulous.

we went up to grand marais to look around.

we got the world famous doughnuts at

"world's best doughnuts".

they were very good!

 we went to the bay to eat our doughnuts and throw rocks in the water.

then the girls did some shopping.

i thought these sock coin purses were hilariously weird!

 we had lunch at the "beach".

there were tons of seagulls.  the kids were chasing them and feeding them.

i think they were confused.

 

 this is north shore sand.

 

we finished our trip to grand marais going on a walk down by the water.

it was so beautiful.

there were a ton of cool rock statues and pools.

we walked trying to see what pools were warm, none were.

the water is so cold here!

we also went out and checked out a little light house. 

lots of walking and exploring.



casade falls

cascade falls.

the waterfalls here just seem to go on forever here.

one after another and then theres another!

it is so beautiful.  rocky shore everywhere you look.

there are several pictures of natalie and liv far away.

they were our adventurers.

they would go off by themselves and we would have to call them back.

dad hike

the dads took the kids to see the tettegouche falls.

the water is brown and looks like rootbeer.

i can't remember why!  haha.

the moms and lyndsey stayed back at the camp

to watch and turn the dutch oven breakfast.

the hiking was fun and the breakfast was yummy!

campsite

this is langstons campsite we crashed!

we have lots of camping chairs around the fire.

we are jealous of the langstons sweet camper!

then our 2 tents.  the girls slept by themselves in the smaller one!!

brett, kale and i slept in the bigger one.

last night was just a tad bit cold. 

i think it was 40!  but we made it through and even got some sleep,

real camping

we are here.

we joined the langstons up at tettegouche state park.

this is the first time we have taken the kids camping!

i am pretty sure we are going to have a blast!!

we got some cheezits.

you think the kids have never had crackers!

they made all sorts of shapes with them.

liv even made an "m" for mallory!

a man sandwich

brett is a manly man.

he likes his buns big and i found these huge rolls at walmart today

so i got them for him.

his sandwich is on the left and mine is on the right.

he was in heaven!

shootin guns

we went on a little date today.

the langstons and us went shooting!

a family in our ward has a "farm" and a shooting lane

and let us come use it!

brett brought his arsenal and we had FUN!

 

camping inside

brett just went scout camp and the girls helped him

air out the tent.

he told them they could sleep in the tent INSIDE tonight,

so we put it up and got them all set up!

they are so excited.

we will see how long they last!

re decorating!

since we got such great family pictures done in utah

i came home and blew one up to put in the living room.

it's a 20x30!

we are almost life size!  haha.

i love how it turned out and

to make it even better, the frame was regular $50

at ikea and i found it in the "as is" for $15!  woot woot!

birthday party and IKEA!

we didn't waste any time staying home.

we got right up and mal went to her best friends birthday party!

they got to go to the MN zoo.

 

i took kale and liv down to ikea.

one thing that helped kale get potty trained was knowing

he could go into the ikea play place with the girls if he wore undies!

he was so excited and liv was a good big sis to go and show him around!

we are home!

we finally got home. 

dad made us these awesome sign to come home to!

mallory asked me one day on our trip,

do you think dad will make a sign for us when we get home?

i told brett and he came through!
