sweet tooth fairy

 we went to the famous sweet tooth fairy!

just me and brett.  it was a date!

brett had never been to a cupcake shop and said he wanted some of the cake bites.

i had just seen them and thought, wow, those are $1 for the size of an oreo!

i told him they were a dollar each.  he pretty much yelled,

THOSE ARE A DOLLAR!!

the whole store stopped and looked at us.

it was seriously hilarious. 

i put my hand on brett's shoulder and

announced he had never been to a

cupcake shop before.

everybody laughed and went on with buying their cupcakes!

it was awesome.

 

we got some cookies for the kids and cupcakes for the adults! 

YUM!!!

casade springs

we braved driving to cascade springs today!

i only grabbed the side of the car once on the drive up.

yikes.  those were some little roads!

brett did a great job driving, but i must admit, i am a control freak with driving.

i like to be in control!  so i drove down the mountain and felt a little better.

 

we walked around, on all the paths and even went in the water

when we weren't suppose to!

the kids could not believe the huge mountains. 

it was so cute to hear them say, wow, look out my window.

no, look at my window!

 

fun with grandma

the kids and grandma jodeene had a pillow fight this morning.

what a great memory of fun with grandma!

we have been playing with the chiwala (as kale calls the chiwawa), playing on grandma's neat computer, watching some ninja warrior and lots of reading!!

ephraim and new sisters

today we all loaded up in the van, grandma and grandpa included,

and went to ephraim, ut.

josh (brett's little brother) and his new wife, jenny live there!

we were so excited to meet jenny for the first time ever!

we got to see where josh and jenny live and their little town.

we went to snow and went swimming!

brett was our brave dad and went off the high diving board!

the kids think brett is even cooler now!

 

oh this boy!  he has my heart!  too cute!

funny story about the merry go round.

josh went to the park first with the kids and got them all on the merry go round.

as i was walking over i could see kale holding on for dear life with a pretty worried face!

i knew he couldn't hold on much longer and was going to fly off.

and just a minute later he did fly off.

he was pretty tough and only cried a little.

it was pretty funny!

our girls LOVED jenny.

she was so sweet and loved them right back.

i can't believe liv is almost as tall as her!

 

we are so glad jenny is in our family and

SO EXCITED to see a new addition to their family in jan!

YAY!!

BYU!!

this morning we went to BYU and visited grandpa earls

green house.  it was awesome.

they have so many beautiful plants and a very cool fountain!

this is the lab where sara works.  we got to see her for a minute

before she rushed off to lunch with friends.

oh, we miss here in minneapolis!

for some reason i didn't get a picture of sara!  doh!

after the greenhouse, we had to stop by the book store.

i just love BYU!  i miss it!

we got some candy, looked at all the fun stuff in the bookstore

and then danced in the ballroom.



teaching cool

brett likes to do kales hair in the morning.

this morning he was teaching kale to do his own hair!

i love my boys!

grandpa, dinner and yogurt

we finally got to see grandpa tonight. 

kale was all over him rough housing.

then we all went to dinner at J-DAWGS in orem.

they only have hotdogs and they were pretty good.

then we couldn't resist going to the yogurt place across the street.

it was yummy and

we got some really good pics of grandpa and grandma and the kids!

the mountains, the crazy traffic and churches EVERYWHERE!

we have missed you!

we are staying at brett's moms place.

grandma jodeene has a little chiwawa and the kids are in heaven!

we got to see brett's cousin shawn and his awesome little boy jovan today.

we went to a park and had a picnic. 

to say kale loved jovan would be an understatement!

jovan was so nice and played with kale.

all the kids had a great time.

brett hasn't seen shawn in about 5 years.

i think brett was excited to see him!



day 2. almost there and a little hike

i think was saw the inside of every bathroom from the utah state line to orem!

one of the kids had to go about every town and rest area.

but we made it!

we even went on a hike at one of the rest areas. 

good to get out of the van and get some fresh air!

21 hours of actually driving.

1362 miles of road.
